The SST was created to provide intensive support and
additional capacity to services users, families and carers
during times of need and in crisis situations.
Our highly competent Specialist Support Workers are
responsible for taking a lead role in a specialist area, or
working within a specialist programme and/or team to
plan and deliver a high-quality support service, which
promotes client choice and control, ensures clients learn
new skills, make positive life choices and achieve best
possible outcomes.
The specialist Support Workers have experience and training in PBS and PROACT-SCIPr-UK (keeping safe and protective working practice interventions). This training is a proactive
and therapeutic training model to enable staff to support children and adults with complex needs and challenging behaviour. The training enables staff to deliver a whole person approach that is informed by each individual’s needs.
The Specialist Support Team is led by our Clinical Director who has over 17 years’ experience within the care sector. She has provided person centred support and training for adult and child client groups including people with autistic spectrum conditions, acquired brain injury, mental health problems, sensory impairments, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, challenging behaviour and forensic backgrounds.
Our Clinical Director holds accreditation with Loddon
Training and Consultancy and is the Executive Lead
responsible for the restrictive intervention reduction
programme at Bevris Support.
Overall, our Specialist Support Team can play a crucial
role in enhancing the quality, efficiency, and
effectiveness of support and delivery, ultimately
improving outcomes and experiences for individuals
and their families.
The team also offers consultations to other healthcare
professionals, providing guidance, recommendations
and support in areas related to complex and challenging
behaviour.
